PCI DSS

As part of its latest achievement in ensuring the security and protection of customer information, the Palestine Islamic Bank (PIB) received the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards (PCI DSS) Certification, which is a global industry standard. This Certification aims at helping protect cardholder data and avoid fraud and hacking attempts.

PIB received the PCI DSS Certification following an audit by Sovereign Secure, a company specialized in the field of information security and approved by the PCI Security Standards Council to validate an organization’s adherence to PCI DSS. The audit validated PIB’s adherence to procedures, policies and requirements related to security standards adopted by PIB. This, therefore, confirms PIB’s commitment to strict international standards in the field of card data security. Requirements include, but are not limited to, building a secure network for devices that deal with cards and taking solid measures for related systems, in addition to monitoring and testing networks regularly and encrypting cardholders’ data when sending their information over the Internet.

Objectives of “PCI DSS”

  • Protect cardholder data.
  • Monitor networks related to cards regularly and maintain them periodically.
  • Follow safe work procedures and policies while handling cards.
  • Ensure customer awareness for maintaining card data confidentiality.
