PIB holds an awareness panel discussion on Islamic Finance Instruments and Banking Services in cooperation with Al-Dhahiriya Islamic Dawa College
In cooperation with Al-Dhahiriya Islamic Dawa College, Palestine Islamic Bank (PIB) held an awareness panel discussion on Islamic Finance Instruments and Banking Services. The panel comes in line with the Bank’s efforts to raise awareness on banking services in general and Islamic banking in particular.
The panel was attended by Dr. Khaled Sarahneh, College Dean, Mr. Khaled Jabarin, President of the Southern Hebron Chamber for Industry and Trade, and Mr. Majed Abu Sharkh, the Chamber’s Director. PIB was represented by Dr. Ayman Jibreen Jweleis, Member of the Sharia Supervisory Board, Nizar Bali, Director of the South District, and several Department and Branch Managers. The panel was also attended by many public figures, traders, and the academic staff and students of the Al-Dhahiriya college.
After warmly greeting the audience, Dr. Sarahneh stressed the importance of raising awareness on Islamic Banking, the services and products offered by Islamic Banks, and the necessity to foster cooperation among these financial institutions and the local community, namely educational establishments therein.
Dr. Ayman Jibreen Jweleis, Member of the Sharia Supervisory Board, presented an overview on the Board’s role for ensuring the Bank’s compliance with Islamic Sharia, namely in terms of its work, services, and activities. He also noted the global references adopted by the Bank with respect to Islamic Banking.
Dr. Imad Al-Sadi, PIB General Manager, stated that the panel comes in line with the Bank’s efforts toward raising the awareness of various community segments on Islamic Banking and introducing the services and products the Bank offers to its customers. He also extended his gratitude to Al-Dhahiriya Islamic Dawa College for hosting this event and attaching importance to this field.
Al-Sadi also noted that these awareness efforts are deployed simultaneously with the Bank’s creation and launch of many Islamic Banking products and services aimed at meeting the needs of various community segments.
During the panel, the Bank’s representatives answered the audience’s questions. Ibrahim Salman, Director of Marketing and Public Relations, made a presentation on the Bank’s e-services, Sharia-compliant World Mastercard and Platinum Mastercard, and the services and privileges offered to customers, and highlighted other services and products offered by PIB.
On another hand, Dr. Bassem Badr, Director of the Sharia Audit Department, made a presentation on Islamic Finance forms and stated that the Bank is always keen on launching new products based upon non-conventional Islamic Finance forms aligned with this era’s requirements.
It is worth noting that Palestine Islamic Bank periodically holds awareness panels and meetings to increase awareness on Islamic Banking services in particular and banking services in general and to explain the relevant various concepts to the public, thus contributing to increasing financial inclusion levels in Palestine.
