Palestine Islamic Bank supports 11 health institutions and centers in Hebron and Bethlehem
Palestine Islamic Bank has supported health institutions and centers in Hebron and Bethlehem governorates; by providing 11 oxygen generation devices, in the capacity of 10 and 5 liters, due to their importance for the treatment of Covid19 patients. This support is part of the Bank efforts to assist the health sector in Palestine.
Oxygen generation devices have been distributed among Dura Governmental Hospital, Military Hospital in Bethlehem, Al-Thaherieh Hospital, Abu Al-Hasan Al-Qasim Hospital in Yatta, Emergency Center in Al-Fawwar Camp, Coronavirus treatment centers in Ithna and Surief, Al-Shyoukh Municipality emergency committee, Bethlehem Municipality, Hebron Zakat Committee and Al Sanabil Charity Association.
PIB General Manager Imad Al-Sadi indicated that this support is part of the continuous support provided by the Bank to the Palestinian health sector; which has been intensified during the last two years due to the significant challenges imposed by Coronavirus pandemic on this sector.
Al-Sadi also indicated that:“PIB has prepared quarantine centers, and has also provided its direct support to the Ministry of Health as well as several health centers and institutions in different governorates”.
Al-Sadi clarified that the Bank’s social responsibility policy considers supporting the health sector is a top priority; as the health sector is a vital sector and its development is a basis for achieving sustainable development. He also indicated that the support provided by the Bank to confront the consequences of coronavirus pandemic is not only limited to the health sector; however, the Bank has also contributed in confronting the negative economic impacts of coronavirus pandemic on citizens and small enterprises by supporting “Waqfet Izz” Fund and participating in “Istidama” program for financing small and medium enterprises, in addition to providing direct support for tens of affected institutions and associations.
The representatives of health institutions and centers have reinforced the importance of Palestine Islamic Bank’s role to support the health sector at different levels. Moreover, they have also emphasized the significance of integrating roles among all sectors to foster the health system and increase its capacity to confront the challenges imposed by Coronavirus pandemic.
Palestine Islamic Bank dedicates the largest part of its community responsibility program for supporting health and education sectors; as being considered as vital sectors which represent a significant part of the global objectives for achieving sustainable development which constitute the general framework of the Bank’s social responsibility policy.
