PIB Grants Al-Safa Factory an Interest-Free Loan at a Value of One Million Shekels

Palestine Islamic Bank granted Al-Safa Dairy an interest-free loan at a value of one million shekels, within the framework of its Social Responsibility Program.

PIB General Manager, Bayan Qassem, said that the Bank’s decision to provide this loan and support the factory’s development plan emanates from the Bank’s belief in its role towards all sectors, within the framework of a true partnership, in order achieve sustainable development.

Qassem’s statements were relayed during a meeting concluded with His Excellency Undersecretary of the Ministry of Awqaf, Dr. Hussam Abu Al-Rub and Mr. Muhammad Abu Awad, Chairman of the Palestinian Economic Council “PECDAR”, at the executive management of the Al-Safa Factory; in the presence of the General Manager of Al-Zakat Fund, Mr. Ismail Abu Al-Halawa. Imad Al-Saadi, PIB Deputy General Manager, Khitam Abu Aita, Director of the Northern District, Abdel Raouf Alawneh, Director of the Finance Department, and a number of branch managers, attended the meeting on behalf of the Bank.

PIB General Manager stressed that the level of success realized by the factory is a result of the efforts exerted by the Ministry of Awqaf and Religious Affairs as well as the factory’s management; to overcome all obstacles.

For his part, Hussam Abu Al-Rub affirmed that the Ministry of Awqaf and Religious Affairs is determined to move forward in this project and develop it. Moreover, Abu Al-Rub thanked PIB and the Palestinian Economic Council for their unyielding endeavors to support and develop the development institutions supervised by the Ministry.

In turn, Mr. Muhammad Abu Awad said that Al-Safa Factory now represents a model for the successful project which is expected to achieve further successes during the coming period; attributing this success to the development plans set forth by the factory’s executive management and to the support provided by the Ministry of Awqaf and Palestine Islamic Bank.

On the other hand, the director general of the factory, Dr. Nariman Abu Atwan, said that, after careful consideration, the factory was able to develop its processes at all levels as a result of the support provided by the Ministry of Awqaf and Palestine Islamic Bank. She also noted that the factory is now ready, in all respects, to proceed in the development and expansion of its work and offer quality products.

It should be noted that the Al-Safa Dairy Factory belongs to the Nablus Zakat Committee, and its revenue is allocated for the welfare of orphans and poor families.

Furthermore, Palestine Islamic Bank operates through the largest Islamic banking network in Palestine, which includes 45 branches and offices and 85 ATMs that provide their banking services and products in accordance with the provisions of Islamic Sharia.
