Palestine Islamic Bank Donates Food Vouchers in Gaza Strip

As part of a campaign dedicated to support Gaza launched by Palestine Islamic Bank during the current month of Ramadan, the Bank donated food vouchers in the form of purchase vouchers for the benefit of families in need in the Gaza Strip

During the campaign, around 300 purchase vouchers were distributed to families in different areas, the selection of families fell under specific criteria’s that stated that a family will not have another source of income, most of the family members to be either elders, children or with disabilities, in addition to other criteria’s that have been selected carefully with the target to include the biggest number possible of families in need and who deserve aid, the lists for these families were prepared after conducting field studies for various cases and in coordination with Competent authorities.

Ms. Doha Al Wazany – Public Relations Manager at PIB said that during Ramadan, more than 300 vouchers were distributed, each voucher included vegetables, meat and food for families in need, around 100 voucher were donated by the Bank’s staff who responded to the campaign of donating a one-day salary for the benefit of the besieged Gaza strip.

Al Wazany clarified that considering the hard conditions Gaza strip is witnessing, PIB launched at the beginning of Ramadan a humanitarian initiative towards Gaza where it directed all budgets allocated for various activities during Ramadan and channeled them to support our people in Gaza, in addition to responding to campaigns launched by other institutions like Taawon association, the bank also sponsored two full days at the charitable “Tkiyyet Ibn Baz” in Rafah, affirming that the tangible influence achieved by these initiatives influenced over 2500 family.

Al Wazany asserted the bank's keenness to stand with our people in all its locations of presence and the bank’s constant efforts to meet the needs of its community in a way that ensures development, considering this to be a moral and religious obligation that bank commits to and encourages its staff to commit to as well by including them in all these activities on volunteering basis.

She added that PIB's campaign in the Gaza strip is continuing and will witness in the near future the distribution of clothing collected and donated by employees of the Bank within the campaign "Onshor Basma" to a number of families in need, through “Natuf for Environment and Community Development”, in an attempt to ease some the burden off our people in Gaza, especially with the coming of Eid al-Fitr.
