PIB becomes ISO 9001:2015 certified
In line with its continuous striving for excellence and given the premium banking services and products it offers, the Palestine Islamic Bank (PIB) has obtained the ISO 9001:2015 International Quality Certification upon meeting all the relevant requirements.
Dr. Imad Al-Sadi, PIB General Manager, received the Certification from Eng. Shereen Al-Sayed, GCL-Palestine General Manager. The ceremony was held at the Bank’s headquarters in Ramallah and attended by the Bank’s Executive Administration, Directors of many Departments, and Media outlets representatives.
PIB was granted this international certification after the external audit conducted by GCL-Palestine, representative of GCL International, a certification specialized entity. The audit concluded that the Bank met all the relevant requirements, namely in terms of adopting an advanced quality management system aligned with the criteria of the ISO 9001:2015 standard. The Bank has also adopted the standard’s client-focused principles, ensuring the continuous improvement of operational and business aspects based upon a risk management approach, adopting a leadership approach, ensuring employee engagement and skills development, and promoting relationships and partnerships with all relevant entities.
Al-Sadi noted that this achievement wouldn’t have been possible if it weren’t for the wise guidance of the Bank’s Board of Directors and its adoption, along with its various committees, of the best good governance and institutional excellence principles. He stated that it has also been achieved thanks to the excellent efforts of the Bank’s employees in all its branches and directorates, and certainly thanks to the supervision of the Sharia Supervisory Board that is keen on ensuring the Bank’s compliance with Sharia Laws and Principles.
Al-Sadi also noted that receiving this important certification confirms that the Bank is able to meet its clients’ expectations and offer high-quality Islamic banking services and products in line with our modern era requirements and clients changing needs.
He added: “The Bank’s adoption of the Quality Management System, pursuant to this international standard, contributes to strengthening the relationship with the public. It also increases self-supervision efficiency in terms of the Bank’s activities, products, and services. It favors maintaining the strength and excellence of the Bank’s staff. Moreover, this achievement challenges us to keep on achieving excellence and produce the best results to meet our clients needs.”
Eng. Shereen Al-Sayed stated that PIB’s certification rewards the integrated and excellent efforts of the Bank’s staff during the Quality Management System’s development, implementation, and improvement stages. It also reflects the Bank’s professional and smart compliance with the ISO 9001:2015 standard criteria and requirements which, in turn, would increase the quality of the services it provides to its clients and its ability to ensure the continuous development and improvement of its performance as an Islamic banking establishment.
PIB’s mission and vision focus on providing quality and modern Sharia-compliant banking solutions and investing in technology. PIB also has a digital transformation strategy, which led to the launch of pioneering digital services such as the 24-hour digital call center, Islami Online and Islami Mobile services. Such products and services provide a unique package of easy and safe banking services which enhance the digital experience for individual and corporate customers. The bank was recently awarded the 2022 “Best bank for providing Islamic banking services and products in Palestine” award by The Arab Bankers Association and “The Banking Executive” magazine.
