PIB organizes a seminar to raise awareness on Islamic financing and banking services in cooperation with Bethlehem Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI)
As part of its efforts to raise awareness on banking services in general and Islamic banking in particular, the Palestine Islamic Bank (PIB) organized an awareness session on Islamic financing and banking services in cooperation with the Bethlehem Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
The seminar was launched in the presence of the Chairman of the Bethlehem Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Dr. Samir Hazboun, and a number of BCCI Board members and businessmen from the governorate. Representing PIB were PIB’s General Manager, Dr. Imad Al-Sadi, PIB’s Area District Manager, Zayed Shqair, in addition to a member of the Sharia Supervisory Board, Dr. Ayman Jweleis, Director of the South District, Nizar Bali, and a number of department heads and branch managers.
Hazboun opened the seminar welcoming the attendees and stressing the importance of cooperation with PIB to familiarize traders and businessmen with Islamic financing structures and the nature of banking services provided by the bank to merchants and businessmen.
For his part, Al-Sadi thanked the Bethlehem Chamber of Commerce and Industry for hosting this seminar, stating that it is part of the Bank's ongoing efforts to raise awareness of Islamic banking among various segments of society, particularly merchants and businessmen, where PIB is constantly working to provide banking services that help them develop their businesses and grow their investments, which will reflect on accelerating the development, construction, and the economic cycle in Palestine.
Member of the Sharia Supervisory Board, Dr. Ayman Jweleis gave an explanation to the audience about the role and tasks of the Sharia Supervisory Board in guiding the bank's activities and ensuring compliance with the provisions and controls of Islamic Sharia in addition to the references approved worldwide in the field of Islamic banking.
PIB Director of Marketing and Public Relations Ibrahim Salman also gave a presentation on the bank's electronic services, the Sharia compliant World Mastercard and Platinum Mastercard, and the services and privileges they provide to customers, in addition to showcasing the bank's other prominent products and services.
For his part, the Director of the Sharia Audit Department, Dr. Basem Bader gave a presentation on Islamic financing structures, pointing out that PIB is constantly working on developing new financial products based on non-traditional Islamic financing structures in order to meet the changing needs of customers.
During the seminar, PIB representatives answered the various questions of the audience, which focused on the services provided by the bank to the business sector, the electronic payment solutions it provides, and its social contributions towards sustainable development goals.
PIB regularly organizes outreach meetings and seminars in line with its efforts to raise awareness regarding Islamic and general banking services and clarify several concepts to the public to increase the level of financial inclusion in Palestine.
