Palestine Islamic Bank sponsors "TEDx" International Conference at the University of Palestine in Gaza
Palestine Islamic Bank has sponsored the activities of "TEDx" International Conference, which was organized at the University of Palestine in Gaza, as part of the bank's efforts to support creative ideas, develop competencies, and to encourage entrepreneurship and innovation. This event aims to highlight creative ideas and featured projects and bring them to the world.
The conference was held in the presence of his excellency, the Governor of Gaza, Mr. Ibrahim Abu Al-Naja; the head of the Higher Council for Innovation and Excellence, Eng. Adnan Samara; the chairman of the Board of Trustees of Gaza University, Professor Dr. Riyad Al-Khudari; and Vice-chancellor of University of Palestine, Dr. Nader Abu Sharkh; in addition to a number of prominent figures and representatives of local and international institutions, while Palestine Islamic Bank was represented by a delegation headed by the manager of the Gaza area, Mr. Adnan Alfaleet.
Alfaleet confirmed that the bank constantly strives to contribute in supporting innovative and entrepreneurial ideas and projects in the different fields, indicating that this conference will contribute in shedding light on those ideas and projects and in globalizing them through linking them to the global platform “TEDx”.
Furthermore, Eng. Samara has stressed, during a video conference speech, the importance of sponsoring creative youths, noting that the Council provides the necessary support to develop innovative and entrepreneurial ideas and investing them, for its importance in building a better future.
For his part, Dr. Nader Abu Sharkh, the vice-chancellor of University of Palestine, expressed his thanks to all the stakeholders and parties who have contributed in organizing and sponsoring this event; confirming that "the University of Palestine will always be a sponsor for excellence, innovation and creativity, which is a cornerstone in the process of development and construction."
The conference included eleven participants of entrepreneurial and inspiring ideas and projects, and each has made a presentation before the attendees, who have commended and expressed their admiration.
Palestinian Islamic Bank, and through its Corporate Social Responsibility program, provides support to entrepreneurial ideas, innovation and scientific research that contribute to the achievement of sustainable development.
