PIB organizes recreational activities for children with cancer in Gaza and Nablus
The Palestine Islamic Bank (PIB) organized recreational volunteering activities for children with cancer in Gaza and Nablus, as part of its sustainable social responsibility program, in support of these children as Eid al-Adha approaches.
In Gaza City, PIB organized an entertainment event for children with cancer in cooperation with the Smile of Hope Charity for Cancer Care, with the participation of the Foundation’s General Manager Sami Joujou, Executive Director Reem Al-Khaznadar, the Director of PIB’s Gaza District, Adnan Al-Felit, and a number of PIB branch and office managers and employees.
The event included entertainment activities by the medical clown with whom children and their families interacted greatly.
In the city of Nablus, a delegation from PIB, which included the Director of the North District, Khitam Abu Eita, a number of branch and office managers, and employees visited the Pediatric Cancer Department at An-Najah National Hospital, in order to stress their support and solidarity with patients. They provided some essential materials and engaged in recreational games.
The General Manager of PIB, Dr. Imad Al-Sadi said that employees volunteered because they believed they played a role in society. The events organized in support of children with cancer reaffirm that PIB stands by them. Such activities provide psychological support to patients and help them in their recovery so they can return to their families safe and sound.
Al-Sadi indicated that PIB provides annual support to many institutions that care for cancer patients to allow them to continue providing their services and to help patients in receiving successful treatments.
Al-Sadi also stressed that PIB promotes a culture of volunteering among its employees, because it increases their sense of belonging to their country and community.
It is worth noting that International Finance Magazine granted PIB the 2021 Best Bank award in the field of social responsibility, given its outstanding contributions in this field in line with the global sustainable development goals.
