On Sunday, 19 January 2020, one of Palestine Islamic Bank’s offices, located in the town of Dar Salah in the Governorate of Bethlehem, was subjected to an armed robbery, whereas the perpetrators managed to steal a total of approximately 84,000 shekels.
Palestine Islamic Bank condemns the attacks targeting banks operating in Palestine, by those who have disregarded the teachings of our religion and the customs of our people; these robberies which came as an extension of a series of attacks and thefts that have recently proliferated and targeted a number of ATM’s belonging to banks operating in Palestine.
The Bank condemns these crimes, yet confirms its confidence in the Palestinian security services and their ability to catch the responsible subjects, and bring them to justice so that they can face deterrent punishment.
Palestine Islamic Bank is also keen to affirm that the safety of its clients and employees comes first, and that the crime will not affect the work of Dar Salah Office; whereas it shall be open to business as usual, during official working hours.
