PIB awarded Best Islamic Retail Bank-Levant for 2015
Ramallah, 29th November, 2015:
The Palestine Islamic Bank has been awarded the title of Best Islamic Retail Bank in the Levant for 2015 an honour given by CPI Financial magazine headquartered in the UAE. Every year CPI Financial Magazine chooses a selection of the leading banks on an international level chosen by a committee comprised of leading financial & banking experts with repute across the world to choose the list of nominees and shortlist the finalists to compete for the final award with the “Best Islamic Retail Bank-Levant” title with the public contributing to the vote through the publication’s website.
The awards receive entries from Asia, Africa and the wider Islamic world, and the awards are divided into several categories and are not restricted to awarding Islamic banks but also include commercial banks with Islamic offerings and takaful insurance companies. The awards will be given at a global ceremony during in the first few days of next December.
Mr. Bayan Al-Kassem – Director General of PIB, noted that receiving this award is an important step in the bank’s journey in delivering the best in banking services especially since this award is bestowed by one of the leading financial publications – CPI, and this award serves only to enhance the trust our consumers have in us and in the banking sector in Palestine in and out of the country as well as the Islamic banking sector.
Mr. Al-Kassem that the trust the public has placed in the bank by choosing to give us this award comes as an affirmation that the awarding committee was correct in giving us this title.
Mr. Al-Kassem re-iterated that this was not the first award that the bank had received with the bank being awarded “Best Islamic bank in Palestine” by The Banker betting that the bank would continue to achieve excellence to live up to the trust that its consumer, board members, and general public had placed in it.
Additionally, Mr. Al-Kassem also pointed to the rapid development in the bank’s operations and financial growth in recent years alongside the newer products that the bank had launched such as the Tayseer Visa Card, making it the first Islamic bank to launch this type of international product in the region allowing the customers access to a wealth of choice and to keep up with technological advancements in the banking sector.
Al-Kassem also thanked the Palestinian Monetary Authority for their efforts and follow through as well as their wise policies that have allowed to the banking sector in Palestine to flourish saying “ The return feedback that our clients provide us with have a great impact on our successes. He also thanked the bank’s shareholders and investors with the chairman and board members at the helm for their continued trust & support to the executive board and the bank’s activities and initiatives. He further confirmed that the bank would have not won the award if it had not been for the cumulative efforts of the bank’s employees and their dedication.
