Palestine Islamic Bank Supports a Clean Energy System for an Association in Rafah
Palestine Islamic Bank has provided support to Mojadidon Charity Development Association for Youth Support – Rafah in order to support a solar power generation system so as to improve the services in which it provides to the local public.
The Manager of Rafah Branch at PIB, Ayman Al-Shaer visited the Association and met with its Chairman Mr. Mahmoud Yousef and its General Manager Ms. Wafaa Gabr; during which, Ayman Al-Shaer stressed the Bank’s reinforcement to use clean energy sources to help protect the environment and reduce pollution.
PIB is increasingly relying on clean energy sources to provide its branches with the necessary operational power. Moreover, the Bank is seeking to diversify their efforts in the field of environmental protection by offering a wide range of banking services through electronic windows, thus reducing the volume of paper transactions resulting from customer transactions; in addition to operating its alarm systems, computers, lighting and ATMs via the use of a solar power system. The Bank has also replaced lighting bodies and energy-consuming devices (such as air conditioners) with energy-saving ones. Furthermore, the Bank pumps surplus electricity from its power facilities into the public grid.
It is worth mentioning that PIB operates 15 branches and offices with the use of a solar energy system, whereas their production rates reaches 1.6 megawatts of electricity per day equivalent to 600 megawatts of electricity per year; thus contributing to an environment conducive to lower CO2 emissions from the use of energy generated by conventional fuels.
