Palestine Islamic Bank Honors the Winners with the ‘Award for Best Product in the Student Company’

Palestine Islamic Bank honored the winning student team, from Qalqilya Secondary Industrial School, with the ‘Award for Best Product in the Student Company’ within the program organized by ‘INJAZ’.

Khitam Abu Aita, Bank’s Northern District Manager, Majid Kharoub, Qalqilya Branch Manager, including a delegation of the Bank staff had visited the Directorate of Education in Qalqilya, where they met with its Director, Mr. Saleh Yassin and Qalqilya Secondary Industrial School principal, Mr. Saher Ammar, to honor the winning students.

During this joyous occasion, Abu Aita had taken the opportunity to point out that the culture of entrepreneurship and its promotion among young people is an important means to advance the Palestinian economy; while stressing the importance of introducing young people to the principles of business management and providing them with the necessary expertise.

Furthermore, Abu Aita extended her gratitude to ‘INJAZ’ and to the Ministry of Education for their great efforts exerted towards spreading banking and financial awareness, adding that these efforts are the means to advancing the needed economic and productivity culture in Palestine; especially in the quest to build a national economy based on productivity and innovation.

As part of the Bank’s financial inclusion strategy to spread a banking and financial culture within the Palestinian society, and to provide the public with modern and Shariah compliant banking services through current and non-traditional banking channels, the Bank launched an electronic service package that enables clients to manage their accounts and cards, and pay their bills and carry out money transfers between various accounts, including many other services during any time suitable to them. This was made possible through the e-service website “Islamic Online”, the “Islamic Mobile” app and through “Islamic Auto” self-help Facebook app; whereas PIB is known to be the first Palestinian bank provide such services to its clients.

Moreover, PIB, within its partnership with ‘INJAZ’ and via the assistance of its employees, has contributed in the provision of the necessary expertise to students in order to form a plan designed to bring in sufficient funding for launching their CTQ – EXTRUDER Company, which is intended to manufacture an insect repellant device, and to distribute administrative tasks, prepare marketing plans, determine suppliers of raw materials and select the product’s final form. After which, the device was manufactured and marketed to the public to result in the sale of fifty devices to this date.
