Palestine Islamic Bank Donates Medical Refrigerators to Tubas Health Directorate
Palestine Islamic Bank has donated a number of Medical Refrigerators to preserve medicine for the Tubas Health Directorate. The refrigerators will be distributed in remote villages that fall under the full control of the Israeli Occupation Army who ban the inhabitants of these areas from accessing sufficient healthcare. The ceremonial process of handing the medical refrigerators took place in the Tubas Health Directorate Office with the presence of the Palestine Islamic Bank Branch Manager Mr. Rashed Daraghmeh and the General Director of the Tubas Health Directorate Dr. Jameel Daraghmeh.
Mr. Bayan Qasem, the General Manager of the Palestine Islamic Bank, stated that the bank is giving special attention to the health sector through its social responsibility programs and makes sure to provide the needed support for it. “This has been clearly demonstrated by several recent activities the Bank has conducted. Among these activities includes the donation of specialized medical equipment for the Beit Anan Medical Center in the suburbs of Jerusalem, and support through giving provisions to a number of institutions and organizations concerned with treating chronic diseases such as diabetes and cancer.” He said.
Qasem pointed out that the Bank allocates around 45% of its budget for social responsibility programs that support the health and education sectors. The bank also tries to reach out to all the governorates and Palestinian communities who are in need for such support. Mr. Bayan confirmed that these donations come from the Bank's responsibility towards society and its commitment to the teachings of Islam which urges the provision of help and assistance to those in need anytime and anywhere.
Qasem praised the tremendous efforts made by the Tubas Health Directorate which serves the governorate citizens; he also exalted the working staff, including in his words, “the doctors, nurses, administrative and technical staff, along with the administrative practices and organization in the medical facilities of the governorate.” Qasem stressed that the Palestine Islamic Bank will make sure to support the staff through both, its social contributions and through the diverse and sophisticated banking services its provides.
From his end, Dr. Jameel Daraghmeh, Director of Tubas Health Directorate, said that the bank's supply of pharmaceutical refrigerators comes from within the framework of the Family Health Program, a program that was launched by the Tubas Health Directorate to save time and effort for patients. These refrigerators will be distributed to health centers located in the villages to preserve vital medicine, as well as to reduce the pressure on the Directorate.
