Palestine Islamic Bank and Juzoor Foundation Carry Out Project to Equip Five Health Centers in Gaza
Palestine Islamic Bank and Juzoor Foundation for Health and Social Development have carried out a project to equip five health centers in the Gaza Strip by providing them with medical equipment and medicine to deliver essential health services in targeted areas.
The project follows a cooperation agreement recently signed by the two parties to support the health sector in the Gaza Strip and enhance its capacity to provide essential services to citizens amid the difficult humanitarian conditions they are facing.
The project involved supplying beneficiary health centers in Jabalia, Beit Lahia, Gaza City, and Deir al-Balah with the medicines, medical supplies, and essential equipment they require. This will help improve the quality of healthcare services provided to patients and enable medical teams to carry out their duties more efficiently.
The project forms part of PIB’s ongoing social responsibility efforts and its commitment to supporting the groups most affected by the current circumstances, as well as meeting the essential needs of health institutions facing major challenges.
Dr. Imad Al-Sadi, General Manager of Palestine Islamic Bank, said that the Bank gives great importance to supporting the health sector through its social responsibility program and the continued guidance of its Board of Directors to implement quality initiatives that respond to community needs, foremost among them support for the health sector in the Gaza Strip, which is facing exceptional pressures.
He noted that the implementation of this project reflects the Bank’s commitment to contributing to the enhancement of health institutions’ capacity to continue providing vital services to citizens.
Al-Sadi added: “The health sector is a vital and essential sector. We are always keen on making a contribution to allow all citizens access to healthcare services and their right to treatment. Accordingly, PIB provides annual support to dozens of institutions operating in the health sector across all governorates of the country by supplying them with the resources they need to ensure the continuity and development of their services.”
For his part, Dr. Umaiyeh Khammash, General Manager of Juzoor Foundation for Health and Social Development, said that the Foundation’s interventions help alleviate the suffering of people in Gaza by providing integrated health and community services, including primary healthcare, nutrition programs, psychosocial support, and community-based rehabilitation services.
Khammash added: “With great pride and appreciation, we extend our sincere thanks to Palestine Islamic Bank for its ongoing support for our team in Gaza. This support embodies a genuine commitment that helps ease the suffering of our people in Gaza, supports the health system, and strengthens their resilience under the harshest circumstances. This is not the first time the Bank has stood by our side, demonstrating its continued commitment to supporting our work and serving our people in Gaza. It also supports many other initiatives, reflecting its active role in supporting humanitarian work.”
Khammash explained that this support enables the Foundation to continue providing its vital services and, at the same time, represents a living example of how Palestinian institutions can work together and embody the values of resilience and solidarity in the face of challenges.
Juzoor Foundation currently manages 15 community health centers in the Gaza Strip, in addition to a number of medical points. It provides services to approximately 100,000 patients each month, while also helping thousands of children and elderly persons. The Foundation also provides specialized treatment for children suffering from malnutrition, in addition to implementing community-based rehabilitation programs and psychosocial support services.
