Palestine Technical University "Kadoorie" and PIB to strengthen joint cooperation
The President of Palestine Technical University "Kadoorie", Prof. Noureddine Abo al- Rub, and General Manager of the Palestine Islamic Bank, Dr. Imad Al-Sadi, discussed ways to enhance cooperation between the two institutions.
Abu Al-Rub held a reception for Al-Sadi and PIB’s delegation at the university in Tulkarm, where he welcomed the guests and expressed pride in PIB as a leading Palestinian institution that provides banking services to a wide range of Palestinians. He pointed out that Palestine Technical University “Kadoorie” was interested in establishing a number of partnerships to serve the interest of its students and focus on scientific research. It would also focus on multiple areas of cooperation that promote development, by graduating highly qualified students capable of competing in the labor market.
Prof. Abo al- Rub added that the university offers many qualitative academic programs in banking, business, economics, programming and other fields that are related to the banking sector. This is a good starting point for an effective future partnership that serves both parties.
For his part, Al-Sadi stressed that PIB is continuously working on enhancing cooperation with the higher education sector and its institutions, as it is a vital sector, and its development is the basis for achieving sustainable development. He praised the Palestine Technical University "Kadoorie", its achievements and what it represents, namely a distinguished model of a well-established Palestinian governmental university, whose operations are in line with the latest requirements.
Al-Sadi also stressed the importance of strengthening cooperation between the banking and academic sectors so that each contributes to the development of the other, especially in light of the rapid developments in banking and financial technology on the one hand, and in various scientific research applications on the other. He noted that this visit to Palestine Technical University paves the way for more cooperation in the near future, especially on training, employment, and support for scientific research, among others.
Al-Sadi mentioned the annual support provided by PIB as part of its program for sustainable social responsibility for the educational sector in all its institutions, in addition to its efforts to support the scientific research through the annual PIB Award for Scientific Research. This is organized by PIB in cooperation with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research to encourage researchers to increase their production and produce authentic research that bring new value and knowledge.
In turn, Dr. Fadi Abu Diak, Assistant Dean of the College of Arts and Educational Sciences and Head of the General Culture Department at the university, stressed the importance of linking the academic and practical sides in Islamic banking. He said it was important to strengthen this through various partnerships between banking institutions and educational institutions. It is crucial to educate young people about new banking services and products that Islamic banks have been developing in recent years.
The Dean of Scientific Research at Palestine Technical University "Kadoorie", Dr. Samer Al-Saadi, participated in the meeting with a number of administrative staff. Representing PIB, the head of the Shariah Supervisory Board, Dr. Alaa Razia, Assistant Director-General for Planning and Development Assem Al-Masry, Director of the North District, Khitam Abu Aita, and a number of directors of departments and branches were present.
